As our turtle tagging adventures ended a few months ago, I've been curious to see what other programs might be doing similar work. An interesting project called Tagging of Pacific Predators ( provides an overview of publicly accessible tagged critters in real time. As the site title suggests, they cover more than turtles. Sharks, seals, even seabirds are also featured on the site. Hopefully we'll see some NMI turtles featured on the site in the future.

  1. Thanks for this John! The DLNR-DFW STP is currently working with the DFW Wildlife Section on a USFWS sec 6 grant which would allow us to satellite tag 5 more Saipan nesting turtles. Additionally, we are applying for a NOAA sec 6 grant where we would deploy 15 radio and sonic tags on our nearshore juveniles, here's to hoping we'll be able to track more CNMI turtles in the near future! Wish us luck & money!
